Plunge beneath the surface to explore the USS Kittiwake, a deliberately sunk US Navy vessel that is now one of the Caribbean's premier artificial reefs — a hauntingly beautiful, life-teeming underwater world.
What to expect
Board a purpose-built dive boat from the Seven Mile Beach shoreline. Your small group descends to the Kittiwake, a 251-foot decommissioned Navy vessel resting at 65 feet. Glide through open cargo holds and engine rooms colonised by coral, nurse sharks and sea turtles. The second tank takes you to a nearby coral wall — dramatic drop-offs and kaleidoscopic marine life. Dive briefing and all equipment provided.
Good to know
Open-water certification required; bring your C-card or arrange a resort course in advance via Red Sail. Book early as spots are limited per dive. The site is on Seven Mile Beach — a 10-minute taxi from George Town pier. Allow 4 hours total.
