A private-vehicle full-day circuit of the Cape Peninsula — the dramatic finger of land where the Atlantic meets the Indian Ocean — culminating at Boulders Beach's famous African penguin colony. One of the Southern Hemisphere's great scenic drives.
What to expect
The day begins with a sweep along Chapman's Peak Drive, one of the world's most spectacular coastal roads, before descending to Boulders Beach where hundreds of endangered African penguins waddle within arm's reach. You ascend to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, hike to the clifftop lighthouse, and return via the charming fishing harbour of Kalk Bay. Lunch is at a seaside restaurant of your guide's choosing, usually overlooking the Atlantic.
Good to know
Cape Town is a common South Atlantic cruise port. Allow a full day — ideally 8 hours. Book your private vehicle well in advance in season (Oct–Mar). The all-aboard time must be confirmed with your ship before departure.
