Go behind the velvet curtain of Buenos Aires tango culture with a private evening session in a working milonga studio in La Boca, led by professional dancers who have performed internationally. The South Atlantic's most glamorous port deserves its most passionate art form.
What to expect
Your guide collects you at the port and navigates you through La Boca's cobblestone streets, past the painted corrugated-iron houses of El Caminito, to a working milonga. The first hour is a private group lesson with two professional dancers; the second is a live milonga session where locals of all ages come to dance. The music is live bandoneon and violin. Dinner at a traditional parrilla follows, with Malbec chosen by your guide from a curated wine list.
Good to know
Buenos Aires is a frequent South Atlantic cruise terminus. Evening milongas begin around 22:00 local time — best suited to ships overnight or departing late. Book your private lesson component at least two weeks ahead; the official city festival runs in August and offers extraordinary free outdoor milongas.
