Board a small-group boat cruise from Fowlers Bay and drift alongside Southern Right Whale mothers and calves in one of the world's premier whale nurseries. The Great Australian Bight is arguably the planet's most spectacular whale-watching arena — raw, remote, and utterly humbling.
What to expect
You'll depart Fowlers Bay in a purpose-built whale-watching vessel, guided by a naturalist expert who reads whale behaviour and positions the boat for the perfect encounter. Southern Right Whales, some of the largest animals on Earth, roll, breach, and spy-hop just metres away. The remote coastline backdrop — towering limestone cliffs meeting the Southern Ocean — adds jaw-dropping drama to every moment. Binoculars are provided, but you won't need them.
Good to know
Whale season runs June–October; confirm your cruise date aligns. Fowlers Bay is approximately 1.5 hrs from the Nullarbor roadhouse access point — pre-book directly with Eureka Tours well in advance as small-group spots sell out. Allow a full day and confirm all-aboard time with your ship.
