A fourth-generation winemaker pours Lacryma Christi — the legendary wine grown in volcanic Vesuvius soil — at a private terrace lunch with views across the Bay of Naples. Rare, delicious, and unrepeatable.
What to expect
The winemaker walks you through the vines — still trained on the ancient alberello method — explaining how the mineral-rich lava soil gives the Falanghina and Piedirosso grapes their singular smoky depth. At a long terrace table you taste six wines paired with wood-fired pizza rustica, smoked provola, and sun-dried San Marzano tomatoes from the estate garden. The bay glitters below; Vesuvius looms gently above. It is, quite simply, one of Italy's great lunches.
