A private licensed guide leads you through the UNESCO-listed trulli district of Alberobello — ancient dry-stone cone houses found nowhere else on earth — then seats you in a family-owned trullo for a handcrafted aperitivo.
What to expect
Your guide threads you through the narrow lanes of Rione Monti before the coach groups arrive, into a stonemason's courtyard where a craftsman demonstrates the corbelling technique unchanged since the 14th century. You visit a family's trullo-home — still lived in — then settle on a shaded terrace for local Primitivo wine, taralli, fave e cicoria, and burrata so fresh it trembles. The afternoon light on the whitewashed cones is the stuff of pure travel dreams.
Good to know
Best combined with a Bari or Brindisi port call — Alberobello is approx. 55 min from Bari and 70 min from Brindisi by private car. Pre-book the family trullo aperitivo element at least 2 weeks ahead as capacity is limited to 8 guests. Wear comfortable walking shoes — the lanes are cobbled.
