Work alongside a professional expedition photographer in one of the most dramatic and least-photographed seascapes on the planet — sheer basalt ramparts, penguin colonies, and the mercurial light of the South Atlantic all in a single frame.
What to expect
The expedition photographer briefs guests on camera settings before the Zodiac departs, accounting for spray, motion, and the island's signature dramatic overcast. At each cliff station the group pauses for a composition debrief — foreground sea, mid-ground rock, and the wheeling albatross above. Golden-hour light (when it breaks through South Atlantic cloud) transforms the basalt into copper and amber. An evening image-review session onboard rounds out the day.
Good to know
Bring a waterproof camera bag or dry pouch — salt spray is significant. A 100–400 mm zoom is ideal for wildlife; a wide-angle lens is essential for the cliffs. The photography workshop places are strictly limited to keep Zodiac groups intimate — enquire well in advance of sailing.
