English Harbour & Nelson's Dockyard: Private Heritage Sail

Step aboard a private yacht and sail into the UNESCO-listed Nelson's Dockyard — the only continuously working Georgian dockyard in the world. This bucket-list blend of living history and turquoise Antiguan waters is utterly unmissable.

What to expect

Your private yacht departs directly from the cruise pier and rounds the dramatic headlands of Falmouth Harbour before gliding into the sheltered lagoon of English Harbour. Ashore, a specialist guide leads you through the 18th-century capstan house, boathouse, and Admiral's Inn at your own pace. The return sail catches the trade winds — gin-and-tonics included — with panoramic views of Shirley Heights and the surrounding hills.

Good to know

Nelson's Dockyard entry is USD 8 per person payable at the gate. Book the yacht at least 2 weeks ahead as private charters fill fast. All-aboard times for most ships are 5 or 6 pm — confirm your exact time and build in 30 minutes' buffer; the sail back takes under 45 minutes from the Dockyard.
