Board a private wooden gozzo boat and glide into Capri's luminous Blue Grotto — where seawater shimmers electric cobalt — then tour the island's wild sea arches, Faraglioni stacks, and hidden swimming grottos at your own pace.
What to expect
Your skipper departs Marina Grande and rounds the island counterclockwise, threading through sea arches that frame views of the cliff-top town above. The Blue Grotto requires a brief transfer to a tiny rowboat — you lie flat as the boatman pulls you through the low entrance into a chamber of impossible blue light, a phenomenon created by underwater refraction. Back aboard, the boat anchors at a private cove below Villa Malaparte for a swim in clear 22°C water. Chilled prosecco and local pastries are served on deck as you drift back to the marina.
Good to know
The Blue Grotto closes in high winds or swell — your skipper will have a backup grotto of equal beauty. Ferry from Naples to Capri takes 50 min (NLG or Caremar hydrofoil); book your private boat in advance. Allow a full day; depart Naples port by 08:00.
