The island of Capri is a byword for Mediterranean glamour. Arrive by private speedboat, glide into the luminous Blue Grotto, then ascend to the clifftop ruins of Emperor Tiberius's Villa Jovis — this is la dolce vita at its most refined.
What to expect
Your skipper cuts across the Bay of Naples at speed, the white wake of Capri's limestone cliffs rising ahead. At the Blue Grotto, you transfer to a tiny rowboat and lie flat as the boatman pulls you through the low sea entrance — inside, the water glows an electric, otherworldly cobalt from the submerged arch of light. Back aboard, you moor at the Marina Grande and take the funicular up to Capri town for Aperol spritzes on the Piazzetta. Villa Jovis rewards the short hike with jaw-dropping coastal panoramas and 2,000-year-old imperial history.
Good to know
Capri is 50 minutes by high-speed ferry from Naples (approx. EUR 20 each way) or directly by private charter. The Blue Grotto closes in rough seas and low tide — morning visits are best. Book the boat well ahead in June–September. Allow a full day; return ferry schedule must be checked against all-aboard time.
