Snorkel the extraordinary volcanic seabed around Stromboli and the dramatic basalt sea-stack of Strombolicchio, where lava formations, endemic marine life, and thermal vents create an underwater world found nowhere else on Earth.
What to expect
Your guide leads you into waters tinted deepest cobalt by volcanic mineral runoff. Beneath the surface, basalt pillars and lava tubes shelter sea bream, moray eels, and occasional octopus. Strombolicchio's sheer walls — plunging 50 m underwater — are draped in orange and yellow gorgonian fans. Surface between dives to hear your guide explain how Stromboli's geology shapes its unique marine ecosystem. A light Sicilian snack and local wine are served back on deck.
Good to know
All snorkel equipment is provided; mask-fit check done at the quay. Thermal vents mean water temperatures vary — a light wetsuit top is recommended even in summer. Tours typically run 3–4 hours; ideal as a morning excursion before the sunset hike.
