Stand at the base of the statue's torch-bearing arm on the Pedestal observation deck, 89 feet above Liberty Island, for unobstructed 360° views of the Manhattan skyline and harbor — a privileged vantage point most visitors never reach.
What to expect
Your reserved entry grants access to all museum galleries at the base, including the original 1886 flame and full-scale copper face replica, before you ascend via elevator and stairs to the Pedestal deck. From here, the Manhattan skyline, Ellis Island, and the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge spread before you in every direction. A National Park Service ranger is on hand for questions. After descending, the ferry continues to Ellis Island for the immigration museum.
Good to know
Book Pedestal tickets at statuecitycruises.com well in advance — they sell out faster than general admission. Allow 3–4 hours for Liberty Island + Ellis Island. Confirm your ship's all-aboard time before booking your ferry slot.
