Lift off from the shore by private helicopter for a breathtaking overflight of Southeast Greenland's fjords and glaciers, culminating in a champagne landing on the Ice Cap itself. No experience on Earth compares to standing on the world's second-largest ice sheet.
What to expect
The helicopter rises above the dark fjord walls to reveal an infinite white horizon: the Greenland Ice Cap, stretching 1,500 km to the north. Your pilot sets down on a safe, pre-scouted plateau where you step out into profound silence at altitude. A glass of Greenlandic aquavit or champagne is served on the ice before the return scenic sweep over calving glacier fronts and iceberg-dotted waters. Flight time is approximately 60–90 minutes with 20–30 minutes on the ice.
Good to know
Strictly weather-dependent — confirm the morning of your port day. Warm layered clothing essential; temperatures on the ice cap can be 10–15°C colder than at sea level. Minimum 2 guests for charter. Pre-book 8–10 weeks in advance as summer slots are extremely limited.
