Launch a sea kayak at first light into the mirror-calm waters of Umivik Bay and paddle silently between glowing icebergs as the Arctic sun crests the peaks. A small-group, guide-led adventure that delivers unparalleled intimacy with the polar landscape.
What to expect
After a shoreside briefing and fitting with dry suits, you and your small group slip into the glassy fjord. Your guide navigates channels between icebergs that tower three to four storeys above your kayak, their reflections shimmering below. The dawn light shifts the ice from pale gold to electric blue as the bay wakes. Seals frequently pop their heads up to inspect paddlers, and the guide shares Greenlandic ecological knowledge throughout. Total paddling time is approximately 2.5 hours.

No prior kayak experience required; the guide conducts a full safety briefing. Dry suits, paddles, and safety gear provided. Dress in moisture-wicking base layers. Allow 3 hours door-to-door. Book 4–6 weeks ahead; group size strictly capped at 6.
