A 30-minute to 1-hour small-vessel cruise hugging the rose-pink granite cliffs of Great Oyster Bay, guided by a local expert sharing the natural and cultural stories of the Freycinet Peninsula. The quintessential introduction to Tasmania's east coast from the water.
What to expect
Departing from Coles Bay, the vessel skirts the base of The Hazards — three pink granite peaks that plunge dramatically into the bay — while your guide points out fur seal colonies lounging on rocky outcrops. Dolphins frequently bow-ride alongside the boat in the calm protected waters. The golden light on the granite in the late morning is extraordinary and highly photogenic. Refreshments including Tasmanian sparkling wine are served on board.
