What to expect
You're collected dockside and transferred to the private airfield, where your pilot briefs you on the geography and ecology you're about to cross. The aircraft banks out over the harbour, then climbs toward the volcanic caldera — a surreal moonscape of obsidian and ash. You then arc over hidden lagoons of impossible blue before a low pass along the coastline reveals the scale of the reef system from above. Landing is smooth; a cold welcome drink awaits.
