Capri by Private Speedboat: Blue Grotto, Villa Jovis & Clifftop Lunch

Skim across the iridescent Bay of Naples aboard a private speedboat to the glamorous island of Capri, swim into the electric-blue sea cavern, and lunch above the clouds at a terrace restaurant with views that will stop your heart.

What to expect

Your sleek private speedboat departs the marina and cuts south across the bay, passing Sorrento's lemon groves and the haunting isle of Ischia before the white cliffs of Capri rise ahead. The skipper times your Blue Grotto entry perfectly — a tiny rowing boat ferries you into the cavern where sunlight refracts through an underwater arch, turning the water an otherworldly electric blue. Back on deck, you dock at Marina Grande and take the funicular up to Capri town, where a private guide leads you to the ruins of Emperor Tiberius's Villa Jovis on the island's highest point. Lunch on a panoramic clifftop terrace — grilled sea bream, burrata, and chilled Falanghina — is the perfect finale before your speedboat whisks you back across the bay.

Good to know

Best combined with a Naples or Salerno port call (Capri is 50 min by fast ferry from Naples). Blue Grotto entry depends on sea conditions and tide — sometimes closed; your skipper will advise on the day. Book well ahead in summer (June–August) as private charters are in very high demand.
