What to expect
Your archaeologist guide meets you at the port gate and drives to the hillside site, explaining the island's Arawak and Carib history en route. At the site, you explore a complex of carved petroglyphs, a partially excavated ball court, and a working dig trench where ceramics are still being unearthed. Handling replica artifacts and asking detailed questions is actively encouraged. The session concludes with a private slide presentation of recent finds in the society's on-site study room.
Good to know
Morning sessions only (08:00–12:00) due to afternoon research schedules. Comfortable closed-toe shoes essential; the terrain is uneven. Minimum 2 guests required to confirm a private session — book at least 2 weeks ahead. Photography permitted everywhere except the active trench.
