What to expect
Guides begin with a 15-minute paddock introduction so guests and horses get acquainted before heading down to the beach trail. The route passes through a fringe of restinga (coastal scrub forest) alive with toucans and hummingbirds before opening onto the wide sand arc of João Fernandes. At the water's edge the horses wade ankle-deep into the surf — a moment that guests consistently describe as the highlight of their entire voyage.
