What to expect
Depart the marina at 5 pm as the afternoon heat fades and the light turns amber. The marine biologist navigator charts a course through the protected channels around Procida and Vivara, a nature reserve island closed to all but permitted vessels. Loggerhead turtles surface to breathe near the thermal vents; Scopoli's shearwaters wheel overhead. Chilled local wine, local olives, and a cheese board are served on deck as the sun sets behind Capri. Return by 8 pm, just before all-aboard.
Good to know
This experience is best from April to October; turtle activity peaks in August. Book at least 3 weeks ahead as Reserve permits are limited. Bring binoculars if you have them; quality marine binoculars are provided on board. Light layers are recommended for the return journey after sunset.
