Cozumel: Private Jeep Jungle & Mayan Ruin Expedition

Take command of an open-air 4x4 Jeep and carve through Cozumel's wild interior — past iguana-dotted jungle roads — to the rarely-visited east coast and an authentic Mayan archaeological site. Adventure and history in a single unforgettable half-day.

What to expect

Your convoy sets off from the cruise pier into Cozumel's surprisingly wild interior — a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve humming with tropical birds and endemic iguanas. At the Mayan ruins of El Cedral, your guide brings the island's pre-Columbian past to life. The route then crosses to Cozumel's dramatic windward coast for a dramatic cliff-side stop before looping back. The whole experience takes 4–5 hours and covers terrain most visitors never see.

Good to know

A valid driver's licence is required to operate the Jeep. Closed-toe shoes are recommended for the ruins. Depart early in the port day to beat midday heat. Book directly to guarantee your Jeep; convoy sizes are capped for environmental and safety reasons.
