Cozumel: Street Food & Cantina Culture Walking Tour

Venture beyond the tourist waterfront into Cozumel's residential neighbourhoods with a local food historian for authentic tacos, fresh-catch ceviche, handmade tortillas, and artisanal mezcal poured at a family cantina that doesn't appear on any app.

What to expect

Your guide meets you at the pier and leads you inland on foot through San Miguel's colourful back streets. You'll taste cochinita pibil slow-roasted in banana leaf, freshly made marquesitas (crispy crêpes with local cheese), and the island's signature fish taco with habanero salsa. The finale is a private sit-down at a third-generation cantina where the owner pours flights of Oaxacan mezcal and shares family stories. The tour covers approximately 1.5 miles over 3 hours.

Good to know

Inform the operator of any dietary restrictions at booking. Wear comfortable walking shoes; cobblestone streets can be uneven. The tour runs mid-morning, well clear of all-aboard. A small amount of Mexican pesos for optional extras is welcome but not required.
