What to expect
The 30-minute speedboat crossing to Catalina Island is exhilarating, with flying fish racing alongside the bow. At The Wall, visibility regularly exceeds 30 metres, revealing elkhorn coral forests, eagle rays, sea turtles, and clouds of tropical fish. Between dives, the crew sets up a private beach picnic with fresh ceviche, tropical fruit, and chilled drinks on Catalina's powder-white shore. The island has no permanent residents, lending it an otherworldly calm.

Snorkel gear and underwater cameras are provided; certified divers can upgrade to a tank dive at The Wall for an additional USD 40. Depart by 8 a.m. for the best underwater light and flattest seas. Reef-safe sunscreen is mandatory. Total excursion runs 5–6 hours.
