DuPont State Recreational Forest: Guided Waterfall & Wilderness Hike

Trek to High Falls, Triple Falls, and Hooker Falls deep in the Blue Ridge foothills — three of the most spectacular cascades in the Carolinas — led by a local outdoor specialist who knows every trail.

What to expect

The trail system at DuPont is considered among the finest in the southern Appalachians, threading through old-growth forest to the edge of each waterfall's plunge pool. High Falls, at 120 feet, is one of the most dramatic in the eastern US; Triple Falls — made famous by The Hunger Games — cascades in three distinct tiers over a granite face. A knowledgeable guide manages pace, identifies native flora and fauna, and chooses the route that best suits your group's fitness level. Swimming is permitted at select spots for a refreshing finale.
