What to expect
A private car collects you and transfers you to the Nera Valley. The tartufaio briefs you on the art of the hunt before the dogs lead the way through ancient oak and hazel forest. Within an hour you've unearthed your own truffles. In the farmhouse kitchen, the chef guides you through a four-course menu built entirely around your harvest — tagliolini al tartufo nero, bistecca, and a truffle-shaved cheese board — paired with local Sagrantino. You leave with a jar of truffle paste bearing your name.
