Lombok Rinjani Volcanic Crater Rim Trek — Private Guide

Ascend the flank of Gunung Rinjani, Indonesia's second-highest volcano, to stand on the crater rim above a steaming turquoise caldera lake. A dramatic, private-guided trek that delivers one of Southeast Asia's most awe-inspiring panoramas.

What to expect

Your licensed Rinjani guide meets you at the trailhead at dawn, and the climb winds through lush montane forest alive with birdsong before breaking into dramatic volcanic scrubland. The crater rim reveals a breathtaking panorama: the vivid teal Segara Anak lake 600 metres below, a steaming secondary cone, and on clear days, Bali's Agung volcano on the horizon. Your porter carries provisions for a summit picnic, and the descent is timed to get you back comfortably before sunset.

Good to know

This is a strenuous full-day hike — a good level of fitness is essential. Wear layered clothing as the rim is cool even in tropical heat. Book at least 3 weeks ahead; confirm the all-aboard time with the operator when reserving so they can tailor the turnaround. Park entrance fee (IDR 150,000) is additional.
