The guide pauses at each acquisition — a Burmese lacquer cabinet, a fragment of Ayutthaya-era mural — to trace the collector's obsessive eye. Afterward, a silk specialist at the adjacent atelier demonstrates the 2,000-thread-per-inch weave that made Thai silk famous worldwide.
