Horse Whispering & Viking Feast: Iceland's Sacred Horse Heritage

Ride the ancient Icelandic horse — a breed unchanged since the Viking Age — across lava fields and coastal meadows, then dine on a traditional Viking-inspired feast at a heritage farmstead. Living history, beautifully told.

What to expect

Your guide matches you to your horse by temperament and experience level — no riding background required. The Icelandic horse's unique fifth gait, the tölt, delivers a silky-smooth canter across dramatic volcanic meadows overlooking the sea. After the ride, the farmhouse dining room is laid with hand-hewn wooden platters of slow-roasted lamb, skyr, rye bread baked in geothermal ground, and Brennivín aquavit. Stories of the Sagas flow as freely as the mead.
