Walk the ramparts of Mjrrxsi's ancient citadel with an expert archaeologist-guide who has spent decades excavating its layers of civilisation. Marvel at millennia of conquests, trade routes, and living history in one extraordinary site.
What to expect
A 4x4 vehicle collects you from the port and winds up to the sun-drenched citadel plateau, where your archaeologist guide greets you beside the current dig trench. You'll walk restored Phoenician-era walls, peer into Byzantine storerooms, and handle replica artefacts as the layers of Mjrrxsi's past are brought vividly to life. The tour concludes with a small tasting of dishes reconstructed from ancient recipes — olive-oil breads, honeyed figs, and herb-spiced lamb — beneath a centuries-old carob tree.
Good to know
Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes and a sun hat — the site is exposed. Bring water. The round-trip runs approximately 4.5 hours; transfers are included in the price. Numbers are strictly capped, so book 2–3 weeks ahead for port-day slots.
