Scale the dramatic tuff cone of Seongsan Ilchulbong — the 'Sunrise Peak' — and descend into the world's longest lava-tube cave system at Manjanggul on a private half-day tour of Jeju's twin UNESCO Natural Heritage sites. Geology at its most theatrical.
What to expect
Your private driver-guide collects you at the terminal and heads east along Jeju's coast. At Seongsan, you climb 300 steps to the 182 m crater rim for a panorama across the Seongsan tidal flat and the open East China Sea. The guide explains how the cone formed in a single underwater eruption 5,000 years ago. At Manjanggul you walk 1 km into a pitch-black lava tube lit only by strategic spotlights, past 70,000-year-old lava stalactites and the world's largest lava column. Return by 16:00 for a typical 17:00 all-aboard.
