Arctic Photography Masterclass: Ice, Light & Wilderness

Work alongside a professional expedition photographer on the ice-fringed shores and Zodiac waters of Croker Bay, mastering Arctic light, glacial composition, and wildlife technique in one of the most visually spectacular environments on Earth.

What to expect

The session opens with a 30-minute technical briefing covering exposure for ice and Arctic sky, followed by a Zodiac excursion with the photographer at your shoulder — adjusting settings, suggesting framings, and timing the light as the low Arctic sun rakes across the glacier face. Onshore, the group works the tundra for intimate wildlife portraits and macro shots of Arctic flora. A post-excursion image review gives you personalised feedback and a set of techniques to carry home.

Good to know

Bring your own DSLR, mirrorless, or advanced compact camera; a 100–400mm zoom lens is ideal for wildlife. Waterproof camera bags or dry bags recommended. Dress warmly — standing still on a Zodiac in Arctic temperatures demands serious layering. Book via Adventure Canada's expedition team early; photography sessions are capacity-limited.
