Step inside the actual home that César Manrique — Lanzarote's greatest artist and visionary — built within five volcanic bubbles, an architectural masterpiece that defined the island's identity and protected it from overdevelopment.
What to expect
You enter through Manrique's 1960s studio, hung with his vibrant abstract canvases that bridge Abstract Expressionism and Canarian identity. The tour descends into the volcanic bubble rooms — each one a different colour, naturally air-conditioned by the lava, with circular windows framing the landscape like paintings. The garden, centred on a pool perched over a lava flow, is one of the Canary Islands' most photographed spaces. The permanent collection includes Miró, Picasso, and Fernández alongside Manrique's own bold, joyful works.
