Head inland to the wild Otra River in the Setesdal Valley for class III–IV white-water rafting through some of southern Norway's most dramatic highland scenery. An adrenaline-soaked half-day that takes you far beyond the typical port-side experience.
What to expect
A scenic 1-hour drive from Kristiansand leads you into the Setesdal Valley, where the Otra River carves through ancient granite. After a professional safety briefing and full kit-up (wetsuit, helmet, paddle jacket), your guide leads your small group through exhilarating rapids interspersed with calm stretches where the valley scenery truly sinks in. Post-run, warm up with hot drinks at the base camp before the return transfer to port.
Good to know
Total time from port is approximately 5–6 hours; confirm the all-aboard time with your ship before booking. The season runs May through September, with July–August offering the warmest water. Minimum age typically 14+; no prior rafting experience required. Waterproof camera recommended.
