A doctorate-level local historian leads a small group through Uopdod's walled old town, unlocking courtyards and chapels closed to the public.
What to expect
Your guide meets you at the old town gate and walks you through cobbled lanes explaining centuries of layered history — Ottoman, colonial, and modern. Midway, you're welcomed into a private merchant's courtyard for mint tea, then into a small chapel usually locked to visitors. The tour ends at a rooftop viewpoint over the harbor.
Good to know
Wear comfortable shoes; tour runs about 3 hours with several staircases. Reserve at least 5 days ahead as courtyard access depends on the family's schedule.
