Descend 40 meters below the chaos of Naples into Greek-Roman aqueducts, WWII air-raid shelters and candlelit tunnels few tourists ever see.
What to expect
You pass through a nondescript doorway into 2,400-year-old cisterns carved by hand, then narrow candlelit passages that open into wartime shelters still bearing chalk graffiti. The temperature drops sharply and the silence is striking after Naples' street noise above. The tour ends back at street level near a historic café for espresso.
Good to know
Book the earliest available slot to avoid queues; wear closed shoes as passages are narrow and occasionally require stooping.
