Sail the roadless, cliff-lined Nā Pali coastline on a small-capacity catamaran, with a chance of spinner dolphins and whales, ending under a Kauai sunset.
What to expect
The catamaran motors out past Hanapepe Bay before sails go up along sea cliffs that rise thousands of feet straight from the water, reachable no other way. Crew point out sea caves and waterfalls while serving a pupu spread and open bar. As the sun drops, the whole coast glows gold before the return crossing.
Good to know
Winter sailings sometimes reroute to the south shore in rough surf — call ahead morning-of. Board at Port Allen or Waimea depending on which port your ship calls.
