Glide silently through mangrove channels in a small electric boat with a naturalist, spotting rare birds and marine life up close.
What to expect
You board a small electric boat at a quiet dock with a marine biologist who has studied the estuary for years. As you glide through narrow mangrove channels, the guide points out herons, rays, and juvenile fish in the roots, often cutting the motor entirely to drift. Time is built in to simply sit and watch a heron rookery or a pod of dolphins if they appear that day. The trip ends with a short walk on a boardwalk trail through old-growth mangrove forest.
Good to know
Best booked for morning departures when wildlife is most active; bring reef-safe insect repellent and binoculars if you have them.
