ATV Riding in Miami: What to Know

Expect a short, guided ride (usually 45 minutes) on sandy trails through scrub, wetlands, and light woods just outside the city. It’s not wilderness – you’ll hear traffic and see power lines – but it’s surprisingly fun if you like being outdoors and kicking up dust. Tours move at a gentle pace for beginners; more confident riders sometimes get permission to open the throttle on straight sections. Night rides add a different flavor: cooler air, headlamps cutting through darkness, and the occasional glow of eyes in the brush. It’s a novelty experience rather than an epic backcountry trip.

Best time is winter and early spring (December–April) when it’s dry and temperatures are pleasant. Summer rains turn trails into mud and the humidity is brutal; thunderstorms can shut rides down with little notice. Expect to pay around $120–$220 per person depending on group size, time of day, and whether you add photos or a longer session. Solo riders and night tours sit at the higher end.

Pick a morning or late-afternoon slot if you want to avoid the worst heat. Skip the add-on “VIP” packages that mostly just give you extra photos you can take yourself. Wear closed shoes, long pants, and bring a bandana for the dust – operators supply helmets and basic goggles but they’re often well-used.
