Beer Tasting in Warsaw: Worth It?

Expect a casual, slightly boozy afternoon or evening wandering between a few bars, usually in or near the Old Town and Śródmieście. A typical tasting includes 8–13 Polish craft beers – from crisp lagers and solid pilsners to more interesting sour, barrel-aged, or hop-forward styles. You’ll get small pours, some basic food pairings like sausage or pretzels, and a guide explaining the brewing scene. It’s fun and social if you like beer, but not life-changing if you’re only mildly curious. Groups are usually small and mixed with other travelers.

The best time is late spring through early fall (May–September) when the weather lets you sit outside and Warsaw feels alive. Avoid deep winter unless you don’t mind shuffling between bars in the snow. Expect to pay around 180–280 zł per person for a proper 3–4 hour guided tasting with food; shorter bar-hopping versions or self-guided ones can be 100–150 zł. Book ahead in summer.

Tip: Choose a tour that visits a proper multi-tap craft bar rather than just touristy Old Town spots – the difference in beer quality is noticeable. Skip anything promising “13 beers in 4 hours” if you want to remember the last few; they tend to blur together. Focus on Polish breweries you’ve never heard of instead of the big industrial names.
