Is Boston's Codzilla Speedboat Worth It?

This is a 20-30 minute high-speed thrill ride that blasts around Boston Harbor at up to 40 mph. Expect loud music, plenty of spray, sharp turns, and a crew cracking jokes about the boat's fictional monster backstory. It's more amusement-park ride than sightseeing tour. You'll get some decent skyline views when the boat slows down, but the main point is the adrenaline and getting soaked. Sit toward the back if you want a slightly drier (and less intense) experience; front rows take the full wave hits.

Best time is June through early September on a warm, sunny day. Avoid it if it's cold, rainy, or below 65°F—you'll be miserable even in the provided ponchos. Expect to pay around $45–65 per adult ticket. Kids are cheaper but must meet the height requirement. Book ahead in summer; same-day tickets often sell out.

Tip: Pick a mid-morning or early afternoon departure when the water is usually calmer. Skip the overpriced onboard photos and just use your phone. If you're prone to motion sickness, take something beforehand or skip it entirely—those 180-degree spins are no joke.
