Expect a bumpy, loud, dusty ride through the Mojave Desert in open-air vehicles like UTVs or RZRs. Tours last 2–4 hours and usually include some moderate technical sections, short climbs, and views of red rock, Joshua trees, and distant mountains. It’s genuinely fun if you like speed and rough terrain, but it gets repetitive after an hour and you will be covered in fine dust. Don’t expect solitude — most tours run on established trails with other groups nearby. The driving is guided and safe for beginners, though you’ll still feel the adrenaline.

Best time is October through April. Summer is brutal (110°F+) and many operators cut back or cancel midday runs. Expect to pay around $150–$350 per person depending on group size, vehicle type, and whether it includes pickup from the Strip. Private tours or longer excursions push toward the higher end.

Tip: Book a small-group UTV/RZR tour instead of giant Hummer limos — you get more seat time and a better experience. Skip anything marketed as a “sunset dinner tour” unless you just want photos; the food is usually mediocre and you lose the best light for riding.
