Hong Kong Disneyland is smaller and more manageable than its American cousins, which makes it feel less exhausting. Expect a clean, compact park with decent rides, character meets, and the usual Disney shows. It's genuinely fun for families with young kids or first-time Disney visitors, but adults without children may find it a bit light on thrills after 5-6 hours. Crowds vary wildly; on quiet days it feels relaxed, on busy days the small size means queues build fast for popular rides like Hyperspace Mountain and the Iron Man experience.
The best time to go is October to early December or mid-week in January-February (avoiding Chinese New Year completely). Expect to pay around US$80-120 for a standard 1-day ticket depending on season and age; add transport from central Hong Kong and food inside and you're looking at US$130-180 per person for the day. Packages with transport are convenient if you're staying in Kowloon or Central.
Buy tickets in advance online rather than at the gate. Skip the multi-day tickets unless you're genuinely spending two full days there; one day is enough for most people. The hotel pickup/drop-off options are worth it if you don't want to figure out the MTR plus cable car combo, especially with tired kids at the end of the day.
