Dynamic Earth is a modern, hands-on science centre that tells the story of our planet through interactive exhibits, immersive galleries, and a large planetarium-style dome. Expect to spend 90–150 minutes here. You'll walk through Earth's formation, feel simulated volcanic eruptions and ice ages, ride a small time-machine-style capsule, and watch a 360° show about the planet or space. It's genuinely engaging for kids and curious adults, with decent café and shop facilities on site. The building sits at the bottom of Holyrood Park, so the views outside are excellent.

Best time to visit is spring or autumn when crowds are lighter and you're not competing with school groups. Summer gets busy, especially on rainy days when it becomes a popular indoor refuge.
