An e-scooter tour is one of the better ways to see Nice. You cover the Promenade des Anglais, Old Town, and a few hill spots without getting exhausted or stuck in traffic. Expect a mix of smooth waterfront paths and some cobbled streets; the scooters are stable, quiet, and easy enough that most people with basic balance can handle them after a 5-minute briefing. Tours usually last 1–1.5 hours and feel more like a guided ride than a workout. You stop for photos and short explanations, but it’s not a deep history lecture.
Best time is spring (April–June) or fall (September–October). Summers are hot, crowded, and the scooters have no shade; winter can be windy and chilly by the sea. Expect to pay around $45–75 per person depending on group size and whether it includes a helmet and basic insurance. Private tours sit at the higher end.
Pick the 1.5-hour “highlights” version that includes both seafront and a quick pass through the old town or castle hill. Skip anything longer than two hours unless you really love riding in traffic; after that it stops being fun and just gets repetitive. Go in a small group if you can – the experience is noticeably better than the big 12-person fleets that clog the sidewalks.
