The ride itself is straightforward and pleasant: you spend about an hour in the saddle, first on sandy trails through dry forest and cactus scrub, then out onto the wide, calm stretch of Eagle Beach or Palm Beach. The horses are mostly well-trained and walk at a relaxed pace; you won't be galloping. Expect warm sun, a bit of wind, and the chance to let the horse wade in shallow water near the end. It's a nice mix of nature and beach time without being overly strenuous. Groups are usually small (6-12 people) and move at the pace of the least experienced rider.
Best time is January through April when it's drier, breezier, and less humid. Avoid the peak rainy season (October-November) if possible. Expect to pay around $95–$150 per person for a 75–90 minute ride; longer 2–2.5 hour options that include more trail time run $200–$230. Book the shorter version if it's your first time riding.
Tip: choose a morning slot (8–10 am) to avoid the hottest part of the day and the afternoon crowds. Skip the add-on photos—they're overpriced and the guides already take plenty on their phones you can have for free. Wear long pants and closed-toe shoes; sunscreen and a hat are non-negotiable.
