The building itself is modern and pleasant but not jaw-dropping. Crowds are manageable on weekdays; weekends, especially Sunday afternoons, get noticeably busier.

Best time to visit is fall through early spring. Summers in Atlanta are brutally hot and humid, and the museum can feel packed with families during school holidays.
