A hot tub boat gives you 90–120 minutes of cruising the canals while sitting in warm water with friends. You’ll drift past the waterfront, old warehouses, and the harbor, usually with a cold beer or glass of wine in hand. The boats are small (6–12 people), so it feels social rather than crowded. Expect temperatures around 38–40 °C in the tub while it’s 5–15 °C outside; the contrast is the whole point. Staff handle driving and usually supply towels, but you bring your own swimwear and a change of clothes. It’s genuinely relaxing once you’re in, though the initial shock of cold air on wet shoulders takes a second to get used to.
Best time is late spring through early autumn (May–September). Summer evenings give you long daylight and milder air, but shoulder months (April and October) are quieter and sometimes cheaper. Expect to pay around €80–130 per person depending on group size, time of day, and whether drinks or snacks are included. Private bookings push the total higher but can work out cheaper per head for bigger groups.
Pick a sunset or evening slot if you can — the light on the water is nicer and the temperature drop feels better after dark. Skip the add-on “gourmet picnic” unless you really want it; most people are happy with a couple of beers and the view. Bring a warm hat and socks for after you get out; the walk back to dry land can feel brutal without them.
