Expect a compact five-acre jungle walkthrough where squirrel monkeys roam freely and often land on visitors. A guide leads small groups along paths, explains the monkeys’ rescue story, and points out birds and plants. The visit lasts about 45 minutes before you continue to a cacao/coffee plantation for a short tasting and demonstration. It’s low-key, hands-on, and family-friendly but feels somewhat tourist-oriented once the photo ops start. Transportation from Punta Cana or Bávaro hotels is usually included in organized half-day tours.
Best time is December through April when temperatures are milder and rain less likely. Expect to pay around $80–$130 per person including transport, guide, snacks, and entrance. Private tours or upgrades push toward the higher end. Go in the morning if possible; monkeys are more active and crowds thinner.
Tip: Choose the basic Monkeyland + plantation combo and skip any add-on “VIP” or photo packages—your phone and the guide’s camera are enough. Wear closed shoes and insect repellent; the paths can be muddy after rain. If you dislike close contact with animals or large tour groups, this one is easy to skip in favor of a beach day.
