Museum of Flight in Seattle: Worth It?

The Museum of Flight is a massive facility packed with over 160 aircraft and spacecraft. Expect to spend at least 3-4 hours if you want to see most of it. You can walk through a retired Air Force One, sit in the cockpit of a Boeing 747, and explore everything from early biplanes to space capsules. The place is well-organized but huge, so wear comfortable shoes. It's genuinely interesting even if you're not an aviation nerd, though plane enthusiasts will be in heaven. The exhibits cover history, engineering, and the human stories behind flight without feeling stuffy.

Best time to visit is spring or fall when crowds are lighter and Seattle weather is more reliable. Summer gets busy with families and tourists. Plan to pay around $25-35 per adult ticket; kids are cheaper and there are occasional discount days. Add a few dollars if you want the audio guide or simulator time.

Tip: Start with the main hangars and the 747 experience first, then decide if you have energy for the space exhibits or the library. Skip the gift shop unless you really need souvenirs—it's overpriced. If you're short on time, focus on the WWII and commercial aviation sections; they're the strongest parts of the collection.
