Neon Museum Warsaw: Worth Visiting?

The Neon Museum is a compact, atmospheric warehouse filled with dozens of restored Polish neon signs from the communist era. Expect a self-guided visit of 45-75 minutes where you wander among glowing signs, read short bilingual panels about their history, and take photos. It’s more interesting than it sounds — the signs are genuinely beautiful and the stories tie into Warsaw’s postwar rebuilding. It gets crowded on weekends; evenings feel more atmospheric when the lights are the main illumination. The museum is indoors so weather isn’t a big factor, but spring and autumn are nicest if you’re combining it with walking around the city.

Expect to pay around 25-40 PLN for a standard adult ticket; guided options or skip-the-line packages push it toward 60-90 PLN. Buy tickets online in advance during peak season (May-September) to avoid queues. One solid tip: go in the late afternoon or early evening when natural light is fading — the signs look far better lit against dusk. Skip the overpriced guided tour unless you really want deep history; the signage does a decent job on its own. Pair it with a walk in nearby Soho Factory area for street art and coffee afterward.
